Copyright registration and related rights registration means the author, copyright owner, or related rights owner submits documents to the competent state agency to record information about the author, work, copyright owner, and related rights owner. The implementation of registration procedures is to ensure the legal rights and interests of the owner and creator of the work against illegal use of the work such as copying, exploiting, and using without consent.<\/p>\n

Currently, many enterprises prioritize trademark image copyright registration in the form of works while waiting for the National Office of Intellectual Property to review the trademark registration dossier to recognize the enterprise\u2019s capacity with trademark image. The scope of subjects eligible for copyright registration is quite wide, including cases of registering copyright to works, copyright to lectures, speeches, cinematographic works, architecture, computer programs, etc.<\/p>\n

Step 1<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nPrepare documents<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At this step, you need to determine the type of work expected to be registered for copyright so that you understand what documents will need to be prepared. For example, applied artworks should be printed on A4 paper; for music works, you need a music and lyrics sheet or recording; for computer programs, you need a CD storing source code, interface in addition to accompanying documents, etc.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Step 2<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nApply for copyright registration<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Submit a full set of documents according to the list above to the Copyright Office in person, by post, or online. In case of submit it in person, you can submit it at the office in HCM City or Da Nang City.<\/p>\n

The prescribed processing time is 15 working dates. However, this time may be longer.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
