Consular legalisation of Indian documents to be used in vietnam

1. E-sanad

E-Service for verification & attestation of documents of Indian Citizens

Step 1: Applicant visit e-Sanad website for online application (https://esanad.nic.in/) and pay the fees online for consular certification

Step 2: Consular certification for documents online in MEA as follows:

  • Data is made available to MEA (Ministry of External Affairs)
  • Documents are digitally verified by concerned DIAs (Document Issuing Authorities) or GAD (General Administration Department)
  • MEA verifies digitally signed/pre-approved documents
  • Attested document with Apostille stickers is dispatched to applicant

Step 3: Authenticated documents to be submitted to the Vietnam Embassy/Consulate General in India alongside identification for consular legalization

Step 4: Obtaining a certified copy and a certified translation of the consular legalised document at the District People’s Committee of Vietnam’s Justice Division or a notary service in Vietnam.

2. Attestation/apostille of documents not covered under E-sanad

Step 1: Authentication of documents

Applicant submits documents to Regional Authentication Centers (RACs) as follows:

  • For personal documents (birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.): Home/General Administration Department of State/Union Territory
  • For educational documents: Education Department of concerned State/Union Territory

For commercial documents: respective Chamber of Commerce

Step 2: Deposition of Documents with authorized Outsource Service Provider

Details of Five Outsource Agency center is as follows:

(1) M/s BLS International Services Ltd.

(2) M/s Superb Enterprises Pvt. Ltd.

(3) M/s IVS Global Services Private Ltd.

(4) M/s Alankit Ltd.

(5) M/s Alhind Tours & Travels Pvt. Ltd.

Documents submitted by Outsource agency to the Branch Secretariat/RPOs (Regional Passport Offices) having jurisdiction over it

Step 3: Receipt legalized documents from Outsource agencies

Step 4: Notarized documents to be certified by the Vietnam Embassy/ Consulate General in India

Step 5: Obtaining a certified copy and a certified translation of the consular legalised document at the District People’s Committee of Vietnam’s Justice Division or a notary service in Vietnam.
