JOB DESCRIPTION – PARALEGAL

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Client relation:
    • Draft service proposals;
    • Discuss and/or attend meeting with clients to clarify their needs;
    • Promptly respond and/or communicate (by email or telephone) with clients whenever they need;
    • Advise clients on proper scope of work; and
    • Continuously take care of clients to understand their long-term needs so as to promote the Firm’s business.
  • Advisory:
    • Research laws and regulations related to client’s cases;
    • Discuss with line managers and/or Partners to come up with practical legal solutions for client’s cases;
    • Draft legal memos, legal opinions, legal due diligence, advisory letters, advisory emails related to clients’ cases; and
    • Liaise with authorities to check the practices related to clients’ cases.
  • Litigation:
    • Discuss with clients to understand their cases;
    • Collecting, arranging and compiling litigation evidence and dossiers;
    • Prepare cases’ chronologies, analyze legal issues, legal bases, and provide solutions;
    • Track and records files and make them accessible for line managers and/or Partners;
    • Prepare petitions, statements of claim, statement of claims and/or other documents, papers as required for the cases; and
    • Liaise with the courts and/or litigation authorities to follow up the cases and clarify information and documents where needed.
  • Licensing:
    • Research licensing procedures and liaise with authorities to check the practices;
    • Work with clients to collect and/or clarify information;
    • Prepare information questionnaire, document checklist and dossier guidance related to licensing procedures;
    • Draft, translate, compile, submit and/or follow up licensing dossiers with clients and authorities;
    • Provide guidance for clients to ensure that they proceed the procedures properly; and
    • Arrange and retain dossiers (hard-copies and soft-copies) to ensure accessibility when needed.
  • Document preparation, translation & review:
    • Draft, translate and/or contracts, agreements and other documents related to clients’ cases or as requested by line managers from time to time;
    • Advise on legal issues, matters, risks and solutions (if any) related to clients’ contracts, agreements and/or documents; and
    • Assist line managers in preparing standard contracts, agreements and/or templates to be used for clients’ cases or internal operation.
  • Other tasks:

Requirements

  • Bachelor of law or higher;
  • Experience in a law firm is a plus;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Ability in social media is an advantage;
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing) with IELTS 6.5 at least;
  • Able to work independently or in a team with hard pressure and/or tight deadlines;
  • Good at time management, task management and planning;
  • Proactive, dynamic, flexible, open-minded and responsible in work;
  • Good at researching, drafting and communication; and
  • Diligent and detail-oriented.

  • Working Time: Mon to Fri, 8:00 am – 17:00 pm
  • Working Location: 7th floor, Phuong Tower, 46-48 Hai Ba Trung St., Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, HCMC
